Wild guess: Anthony said something weird. It's actually some sort of code. One only him and Donny would understand. As to the rest of the weird going on, it seems like he's hardening the room against possible eavesdropping (just an impression, I would not be able to argue for that). Against whom, though...

I cannot tell you guys how excited I am for the next pages. This chapter keeps getting better and better.
I'm with foresterr, it definitely sounds like Anthony's phone call was some secret code words (that will unlock the heart of the Court dun dun duuu).

Agreed, probably it's a guard against eavesdropping but it might also be that he wants Antimony to write down what Anthony said while it's still fresh in her mind. This way there is a record and there will be fewer/no distortions or omissions in her memory about the conversation later (upset witnesses tend to make mistakes like that).
Also, I am guessing a trace using conventional means just failed. Gonna try etheric means now?

So it's something that shouldn't be said aloud, whether per se or when someone can hear. Looks like either JCBeastie or me will get at least a half of the gunnercookie this time. Of course, it's still possible both guesses hit fully: it affects Antimony, it's a secret and she needs to visit Anthony ASAP. It looks almost like Donny will finally tell her something like the revelation of her nature, which she already knows. Normally, the full measure of it would be Anja's part to say, but it's very likely to be a necessary preamble to most important things she doesn't know yet. Which would really rile her up. By the way. I almost expect that when they'll finally give her The Talk about the Bonfires and the Firewalls, Annie will only blink and pull something like "Oh, well. I guess it's already too late to worry..." just to see them jump - after all, she messed with Jack in much less justified circumstances.

Now I am intrigued, is he going to (or did he just) fzzak something instead of bipping it?
I am going to hazard the guess that the message from Tony is: "I found it, the seed bismuth is right behind the... ugh... (dies)".

I think the writing may not just be to prevent eavesdroppings, it may also be being used as a method to calm annie down, by giving her something to be distracted by.

So relieved Annie didn't go into full meltdown.
Though now she has those terrible circles around her eyes.

Seriously, that's some kind of face there Carver! I'm finding the mind-control-theory more and more probable.

Also? Antimony didn't realize before Fzzak that she managed to repeat her usual oversight again - and right after her visit to Foleys at that. Why this board got no facepalm smileys? We do so need them. Seriously, that's some kind of face there Carver! Or maybe Donald figured out that he's an outsider and now they will have a little secret together just to facilitate a less awkward talk. He's smart and sneaky, after all.

The message turns out to be terribly vulgar and Donny can't stand to hear her say it out loud. (Kidding.)
The message turns out to be a magical incantation, a Truename of some etheric being, Cthulhic broodfester tongues, or some similarly unspeakable speech. Either way, repeating it will have an actual, real effect, and possibly not a pleasant one. How Anthony could say it out loud when Annie herself can't/shouldn't, I have no idea, though.
Or maybe Donny expects to find a secret message which is only noticeable when it's all written down; something you can only find visually in the letter arrangement or somesuch which isn't audibly obvious. Or... something.
I'm hoping for magic words, though.

The blue light made me think "Brinnie?!", but the sound effect is different. Still, it would be awesome if she showed up. Tom's note at the bottom makes me think the message isn't special and he's just teasing us. Then again, it could be the call to summon Cthulu. That's about the only mythology this comic doesn't have.

Guys, he's just fzzak-ing access to his computer. He got frustrated with the low-tech laptop ("might as well be using a calculator") and is summoning his and Anja's magic supercomputer to do the tracking instead, which is why he mentioned Jones not minding if he borrows her phone. Cause he's gonna do magic-science to it.
And I defs think the message was some kinda crazy damn mind control spell . Anthony probably wants Annie to repeat it and turn the whole Court into zombie slaves.

I'm finding the mind-control-theory more and more probable. There's a fine line between parenting and mind control. Even Bill Cosby played headgames with his TV kids sometimes. How about an Anthony parenting attempt fail?

Obviously Donny is doing this just to annoy the reader by not telling them what Anthony said~
Also, I like how Donny's glasses subtly change shape to fit his moods.

The message turns out to be a magical incantation, a Truename of some etheric being, Cthulhic broodfester tongues, or some similarly unspeakable speech. I believe this was covered in the previous chapter. Tom's note at the bottom makes me think the message isn't special and he's just teasing us. I have the same impression, but this toying with the phone makes me doubt it. I'm finding the mind-control-theory more and more probable. There's a fine line between parenting and mind control. Even Bill Cosby played headgames with his TV kids sometimes. Heh, heh, heh.

DONALD: Don't say it out loud! The watchers are reading every word you say!ANNIE: Watchers? DONALD: Rumor has it they can even read your thought bubbles. ANNIE: You mean what I think? DONALD: Don't think. Think and you're dead.

Guys, he's just fzzak-ing access to his computer. Right. The light seems to be coming from the blank wall to Annie's right. The FZZAK is the same sound effect (light effect?) that was used when Donnie blocked Ysengrin's attack on her, way back when. Anja mentions this later on, and tells Annie that Donnie is a sub-user on the computer, so he's definitely accessing the computer in some way, either to query it or to use it to create a shield. (Anti-surveillance?)

That makes Anja and Donnie l33t fzzakxorx, then. Respect!
I only hope he doesn't reverse the polarity of Jones' phone, somehow I doubt she would find it amusing.

Pony screenshots are the new rickroll? I'm afraid this particular memory isn't very conducive to Annie's relaxation. And it's activated by hand gestures, yeah, most likely it's that thing. I only hope he doesn't reverse the polarity of Jones' phone, somehow I doubt she would find it amusing. She may, why not. At any rate, he's not doing it merely to install a partyhat screensaver.

It seems like the site is down? I can't view the comic EDIT: The site's back online now Whew. Shouldn't have worried so much I agree with Legion: Obviously Donny is doing this just to annoy the reader by not telling them what Anthony said~ If Tom was going to just easily tell us what Anthony said, then he wouldn't have ended the chapter the way he did. Also, DONALD: Don't say it out loud! The watchers are reading every word you say!ANNIE: Watchers? DONALD: Rumor has it they can even read your thought bubbles. ANNIE: You mean what I think? DONALD: Don't think. Think and you're dead. YES. Don't think. Think and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't Think. Good Luck.

Then again, it could be the call to summon Cthulu. That's about the only mythology this comic doesn't have. Lovecraft's mythology wouldn't fit "Gunnerkrigg Court" anyway. Its core tenet was that the universe was a blind, uncaring, indifferent place with no purpose, with humans just one tiny, insignificant part of it; the Great Old Ones were symbolic of this indifference. This wouldn't match the atmosphere of "Gunnerkrigg Court", which is far more hopeful.
