Maybe sad, but I'm thinking more...apprehensive, though I have no idea why.

Annie has wings of fire. Both she and Kat are turning into angels.

Wow, what a fantastic display. Can these folks really be considered human? They seem more like etheric beings masquerading in human suits.

Ysengrin showed her how to explode into a fireball? How did THAT conversation go? I would expect someone more like Coyote to be teaching Annie how to do impressive showy things with her powers.
And maybe Blue's expression is just her "having a bit of a crisis" (as Jeremy Clarkson would put it) over Annie's hair. It IS going up, after all. Quite spectacularly. Red can't even compete with that kind of go-uppiness!

Did Annie upon ignition get... Jonesface?! That's sort of thoughts-provoking... Maybe sad, but I'm thinking more...apprehensive, though I have no idea why. Either jealous because Red is that enthusiastic, or it somehow clashes with her own nature... Or she lost a chance to show off, though that's unlikely. Annie has wings of fire. Both she and Kat are turning into angels. My first thought that can be articulately expressed at all was "if she'll crash in like this, Jeanne will have to hear what she got to say". Wow, what a fantastic display. Can these folks really be considered human? They seem more like etheric beings masquerading in human suits. As one character fom Labyrinths of Echo said, it would be a sad and uninteresting world if people didn't tend to be more than meets the eye. ;D Ysengrin showed her how to explode into a fireball? How did THAT conversation go? I would expect someone more like Coyote to be teaching Annie how to do impressive showy things with her powers. Ysengrin can do "majestic" part quite well, when he wants to, remember? Besides, pride is more his part, even though Coyote occasionally does show off to wow people. And maybe Blue's expression is just her "having a bit of a crisis" (as Jeremy Clarkson would put it) over Annie's hair. It IS going up, after all. Quite spectacularly. Red can't even compete with that kind of go-uppiness! ;D

I wonder if Annie is planning on using this, or something much like it, to fight Jeanne.

Also, Red is the true Fire Head Girl as of today! I mean, just look at her! I take that back. Woah. There's an eye-opener if ever I saw one! Now I want a highly detailed full page version of that. ;D

A (part) fire elemental makes for some spectacular demonstrations. Right now she looks more like a half-blood than someone with just a single ancestor. Must be because part is always handed down wholesale across the generations.

The reason I think Blue is sad because she's afraid Red is going to abandon her in favor of Annie. We now know how important hair is to fairys. Just look at them, it represents who they are! Badger-boy's hair looks like a badger, Porcupine's hair looks like the spikes of an hedgehog and Waterfall-girl has bright blue hair. It stands to reason that Red is somehow related to fire. And with Annies blatant showing off of her Fire-elemental side....

Annie's hair!
It goes up!
It was worth the wait to see what she had been trying to show Kat.

Ha! I just remembered that he killed her and blue.

You beat me to it. Actually, of all the pixies, we really haven't seen much of Blue at all - not that her appearances have made her seem all that great a person. I expect this will change.

WOW! Totally amazing! P.S.: Why is Blu so sad? Or maybe she's just jealous?!

Hmm... In panel 5 (2nd small one up from bottom right) those trails of fire from Antimony seem to be going somewhere. I wonder if Blue is concerned because Antimony's bod is reacting?
Also the phoenix-firebird theory has been waiting for Antimony to display clear wing-like thingers like this in the ether.

Oh, it probably is jealousy to do with the hair going up. But when I first read it, I thought perhaps Blue recognises what Annie is, and she's sad for her.

Annie's expression in the first panel hilariously continues the previous page. Also, after the transformation that cut isn't visible. "Ysengrin! Love that guy!" Ha! I just remembered that he killed her and blue. Aye! ...and " I guess he was hungry because..." ;D Hmm... In panel 5 (2nd small one up from bottom right) those trails of fire from Antimony seem to be going somewhere. I wonder if Blue is concerned because Antimony's bod is reacting? They seem to spread everywhere. Though yeah, maybe we're overthinking and she's just a little pyrophobic. I don't think so - given her earlier reactions - but everything's possible... Or maybe she knew and loved ol' good Surma. Unless their age as fairies equals their age in human form, that's very likely, by the way: Coyote mentioned that Surma was quite popular in the Wood and they missed her.

I really have only one word for this.
Beautiful.
I can now see why Surma and now Annie are so popular among the forest folk. Annie was already beautiful as a human. But when she frees herself from her self image, she has to be one of the most beautiful creatures, I have ever had the honor of witnessing across the multiverse. I can easily see why that human fell in love with their ancestor.
Blue must be thinking Annie will steal away all Blue's friends. maybe blue doesn't have any unique trick. And among fairies I'd guess She with the flashiest of tricks is the most popular.

I really want a larger version of this as a wallpaper, now.
So I wonder if Antimony's new etheric tricks have any point other than 'lookit the pretty lights!'.

Given who she says they were learnt from, I would certainly imagine so. Something along the lines of BURNINATING things in the ether, most likely.

Dangit. I saw this coming last page. Urgh why didn't I say anything so I could be a cool kid who calls things before they happen.
At any rate, this is really cool. I wonder what Blue's problem is though. Could it be simple jealousy of some kind? I wouldn't put it past her (or any of these forest people, really). But I kinda feel like at this point in the story, it needs to be something a bit more interesting, or else we're just re-treading the same old "look how stupid Red and Blue are" ground. Perhaps there's something in particular she knows, or something in particular this is making her think about.

Another posibility is that Annie did accidentally set the chair under herself in fire, or something like this, and Blue is the only one who happened to look in the right direction. I really want a larger version of this as a wallpaper, now. "Annie the Phoenix" in 1920x1080 or so would be a glorious wallpaper. So I wonder if Antimony's new etheric tricks have any point other than 'lookit the pretty lights!'. Maybe, just showing the wild bunch his true nature very clearly in itself? As in, "who's the boss (in Coyote's absense)"?
