Theory: Shadow will now be enrolled into Foley, and this is how the Red subplot will be introduced.

Good call, whoever said it was Jones speaking.
Judgedeadd, I was thinks something along those lines, too. But that would be crazy... Wouldn't it?

For me, Jonesy is from Carnivàle. Also I am now confused because the chapter wasn't called "Jones is in this one". Give us some warning OK?

I love the little misunderstanding. When Jones says "He sounds a little like you, Antimony," I'm pretty sure she means in traits and personality. Antimony, it seems, assumes Jones is talking about Shadow's voice, and explains about teaching him to speak. That is well written, believable conversation flow, and subtly reflects the characters' personalities too. I like.

Also, are we in Jones' apartment or office or something like that? I think we are in this room.

One wonders how he got into the court in the first place. Shadow is pretty clever with the lies, and quick too. max: Yea it ALMOST looks like she is making some kind of face in the fourth and sixth panels.

Taking all bets on how quickly Jones sees through the lie! I suspect she's seen through it already, but is unlikely to press the issue.

Ah, I see. They're not supposed to tell about the Tooth. Also, Annie's hair is down again.

I couldn't find a better clip than this, but I immediately thought of the Jonesy from The Hunt for Red October ...while I was reminded of the cat from Alien. ;D One wonders how he got into the court in the first place. Iirc Tom mentioned somewhere (probably formspring) that he's a descendant of the shadows that remained in the court after this incident.

a thought that may have been mentioned already. Originally shadow made noise by vibrating on a surface, now that he is 3D he would have had to re-learn how to talk. didnt seem like he had any trouble when it happened

Perhaps guessed the answer will be elusive at best even before she asked... but won't comment.

To be fair, Shadow is not actually lying as such: he did start peeling. It's just that he's skimping a little on causation

Oh Shadow 2, you're so appealing (heh, heh, you see what I did there? A-peel-ling, yeah, too much Christmas cheer) I really do love Jones, I get this feeling like Tom knows her inside out so what we see is so enigmatic and intriguing. Also, she's quite a strong and foxy female, she adds a nice dynamic to the female cast. On to the page, I think you're spot on Judgedeadd, Shadow will look sweeet in uniform

Possibly, although the first chapter has Shadow wanting to go home to the forest and Robot (or someone) later explained that he was tossed out by his family because he didn't hate the humans. So either thats a plot change by Tom or an unresolved inconsistency, or both.

So either thats a plot change by Tom or an unresolved inconsistency, or both. Not necessarily. Perhaps Shadow wanted to escape the Court (perhaps the other captives didn't like him either, or maybe he was the last one?), so he got Antimony to help him. Upon reuniting with his family, they disowned him when he refused to criticize the people of the Court, so he returned with Antimony when she offered.
