Also theres that EII symbol again. The one that someone said we saw earlier on the painting last chapter.

Whoa, the first through fifth panels really threw me for a loop. It was almost like I'd stumbled into the wrong comic.
It's nice to know they don't have to wear uniforms when they get older. I wonder when the cutoff point is.

Purple Girl looks amazing. Red and Blue have been returned! By such strange way) Those were my first thoughts, too! So who's taking bets if we have some more ex-faeries? Nah, somehow I think these two are just really regular people (as regular as you can be when you attend a school like that).

Kids can leave school if they want to at 16 in the UK. ...Or atleast they could when I was still in school, I think the age might have gone up in the last couple of years. *Hides in the shadows once more*

I really love these character designs. The purple haired girl in particular is awesome.

Regardless I'd agree that it's probably year 12 given that the vast majority of UK schools (or colleges) let Sixth Form wear their own clothes albeit with varying strictness of dress codes (ranging from basically none to business-wear). On that note, is Smitty younger than Parley? He appears to still be in uniform...

He's in the year below her, it was mentioned when they where first introduced to the comic.

Now now, they might just be looking down on the younger ones... Yes, that would be precisely what is making them the aforementioned jerkwads. They apparently also make Parley act like a jerkwad. We shall see if they are respectable characters as the chapter goes on, I'm sure.

So I'm assuming Parley's friends are used to her popping in and out at random. Or did they just not notice? They seem to be walking too close together for that though so I guess they've just learned to accept that their friend might literally disappear mid-conversation.
And maaaaan come on it doesn't necessarily make you a jerkwad if you're a bit condescending to younger kids. I mean really, that's just how high school is. Especially considering these are seniors talking to, what? Eighth graders? In the US that's still middle school!

I swear, panal 1 made me think that Parley had appeared from the future and had to return quickly before her past self walked around the corner. Please tell me i'm not the only one that thought that?

Yeah, most sixth forms have no uniform rules...except mine. Had to wear suits in Year 12/13 >_> The kids who are in Year 10 now are the first ones who can't leave until 18. Which makes me wonder something...what year is this comic set in? I really like these girls designs especially the purple haired one. She looks just like someone I know. Seems like a bit of tension here though: Parley seems to be pretending she's not going out with Smitty.

The purple hair chick = Total honey
Anyone agree?
Also, I think the blue and red thing was to distinguish Kat and Annie at distance.
And the older kids griefing the younger ones? In my experience, I would say they are getting off pretty lightly but my high school (I come from a commonwealth country so we have similar year systems) was pretty rugged.

I'll miss the uniforms when Annie and Kat reach their final year at the Court (assuming that the webcomic doesn't end before that happens). I think that they reinforced Annie's atmosphere of level-headed calmness and resourcefulness. (Of course, the comic is moving her away from that early tone - which might be one reason why we see her in uniform far less often.)

I find the older kids behavior totally typical. While some upperclassmen look out for the younger kids and some would be intentionally cruel, the vast majority of people in this age group that I know would treat a group of 'kids' in this exact way. It doesn't mean that this isn't painful (i went through this exact thing.) but it isn't malicious.
Then again, I think that our heroines are more than capable of handling it.

Looks like Parley's still in the "keep it secret from my friends" stage.
Also, why do I have the feeling that, despite some negative first impressions, those characters are going to get some fan following of their own eventually?

If anyone wants a Perky Purple Girl avatar, here you go. I had to Photoshop in some of the missing details since she was so close to the border and it's still somewhat off-center, but I hope it's workable enough.

I don't know why, but I don't like these characters. Maybe it's the purple hair and blue streaks, is that 'scene' or what?

Is anyone else getting this vibe that Purple and Nonchalant are allegorical match-ups for Kat and Annie respectively?
