Wow, again, that was unexpected.
What a change of mood, haha.

Is it just me, or is Jack's last speech bubble in Annie's color?

Tom hasn't done quote colors in some time now.

Haha, gotta love the random velociraptor.
So, who'd win in a Zimmy/Raptor fight?
(if raptors can be sent to Zimmingham, then my money's on Zimmy. Otherwise, the raptor probably has it.)

Zimmy in a dress vs a velociraptor? LAUGHING ON LINE....
Also, I think Annie is pulling a flirt on those last three panels, or is about to, what with removing her hairband.

Crisis: Averted. And now Annie takes the knots out of her hair and goes back to her former, reserved self.

Is it just me, or is Jack's last speech bubble in Annie's color? Yes, it is. Edit: max: True, but he still keeps it up for the characters he started off doing it for.

Zimmy is beautiful!
And no, no, Jack's bubbles have a distinct green hue to them. His final bubble in the page resembles Annie's bubble-color.

Tom hasn't done quote colors in some time now. Scanning back it looks like he's been doing it for most of the chapter.

Color typos aside..... Anybody else think Annie is pulling a flirt or is about to? What with starting to remove her hairbaind. Or maybe I'm completely misinterpreting her actions in the last three panels.

Haha, gotta love the random velociraptor. Zimmy in a dress vs a velociraptor? LAUGHING ON LINE.... Maybe Jack's parents are velociraptors? Also, I think Annie is pulling a flirt on those last three panels, or is about to, what with removing her hairband. She would have to have some serious nerve to try that right after Jack called her ass out. Regarding the quote bubble colors, perhaps it's just my display, but the quote bubbles look pretty white to me. If I darken the image, I can see the pink.

The pink is more of a peach color to me, but yea its verging on white or at least off-white. Crisis: Averted. And now Annie takes the knots out of her hair and goes back to her former, reserved self. Thats a hairband, which also happens to be the same color as her hair and maybe she is about to tell Jack a story about something?

I think she just feels ashamed, and wants to hide behind her hair for awhile.
I don't know... I wouldn't read a girl taking her hair down as a flirtatious move, personally, especially not in a casual situation such as this.

Looking back through the archives, it's looking like it's always been the same color, but it was much more noticeable when contrasted with Kat's blue quote bubbles.
Getting back to the story, either she does was to be alone, like Eversist said, or she is going to try to apologize for real.

I really just think it's your display. I have always seen the colors, and I have a good monitor when it comes to that sort of thing.

Jack cutting her short in the 5th panel (ie forcing her to be direct with her feelings) gives me the greatest indication of Jack playing with her a little bit more than we think. In my opinion, the rising tip of the previously sunk AnniexJack ship can be seen now because of this strip.
Also: hi, I'm Theo. I registered because I really wanted to say that.

Sorry for not having knowledge of hairband tying methods Anyways, the time between the first two stories was pretty short, so I'm wondering if tom is building up to the next one, or if its going to be a pretty major one rather than the campfire ghost story and campfire love story as the first two were. But yeah, someone explain the raptor. Its a random velociraptor, it can't be explained other than for comic relief.

I'm just letting you know, maaaan.
The last story could be Jack telling her that he's in love with Zimmy, or the two of them faking feelings for the other and the resulting lies, but somehow I doubt it. Annie taking her hair down seems like a good segueway for her to tell Jack something long-winded and interesting.

Jack clearly took "armor-piercing dialogue" last level. Srsly. He's rolling diplomacy like some hypothetical student of Han Solo, Morpheus, and Gandalf. I wonder what kind of psychological effects this is going to have on Annie.
Also, who else here is shipping JackxZimmy? Not only would it be absolutely hilarious, but it could do a lot of good for Zimmy, mentally speaking.

I don't think she looks like she's about to flirt. She's been acting flirty/outgoing with her hair like that, so her taking it out seems more like the opposite. (Ack, badly explained, but hopefully it makes sense)
Oh, earlier Jack asked her what happened since they last talked. I wonder if she told him what really happened.

The effect in keeping Annie's hair together is pretty much the same, no? On a side note, Tom included the ubiquitous white circle on Zimmy's chest even here (also in #929). Man, I really wanna know what's up with that!

He wants her to knock off this facade and be straight with him. That can go many directions.

If he's going to correct someone about it being a hairtie rather than a knot, I felt the need to present a third possibility. No malice intended, of course, just general information. As someone stated above, I think it's Annie turning back into Gunnerkrigg Annie vs. Forest Annie. She had her hair down when she was talking with the girls at the beginning of the chapter, and yeah, she was acting more chill then. Cool visual metaphor, if intentional. Although I would see her as more outgoing and willing to tell a personal story as "forest Annie," with her hair up.
