They look sweet. I d'awww when I saw that.
I hope he remembered to ask for her number and/or her address.
{edit} I just had a thought:
I hope a war isn't started between the forest and the moon people. I suspect Annie is going to say how the fingerprint got there.
The attitude of the person Matt met seems to suggest that they are curious/excited rather than angry but, if that visitor is not the boss, you can't be sure how her superiors would react.

I love how the court brushes off the fingerprint as Solar winds. I bet they know full well it was Coyote's doing and are just trying to cover it up.

Damn it. I made the connection to Chang'e the moment they started talking about the moon, so I came here for the first time in a long time just to find out that half a dozen people made the connection back on Friday. You guys are good.

I love how the court brushes off the fingerprint as Solar winds. I bet they know full well it was Coyote's doing and are just trying to cover it up. Not necessarily, the reason for the dispute is because they don't fully accept magic. If they know/suspect it was Coyote's doing, they may think that he redirected solar winds? They look sweet. I d'awww when I saw that. I hope he remembered to ask for her number and/or her address. Then the notes says she lives on the moon; Matt reads it and thinks she's brushing him off. Given the nature of GC, I don't think that he would automatically assume that. Even those not close to the action have seen lots of weird things: One example: www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=31{edit}And, if you look at the photos, some of them are clearly taken on the moon (with the Earth in the background). For example: the one she's holding in the image of the two of them together in the bottom left hand corner of the main screen.

This storyline is making me so happy. I love this legend.
Also, I guess she is Japanese. Hah.

Once again, I am reminded of Coyote's magnificent power. What can't he do?

Off topic-ish: The rabbit-moon connection explains a personal experience I had in grade school. We had to look at the moon (which was going to be full that night) and make up a story for the shapes we saw in the moon. I saw a rabbit, but my story was laughed at by the class. The teacher must have been familiar with associating the moon with a story of a rabbit, and I got the highest grade in the class for originality (my story wasn't anything near the folklore).
Back on topic: How gentlemanly, Matt. Not only carrying her work, but taking her arm while you walk as well.

I suppose it could be Chang'e... I was guessing Kaguya-hime, myself, but what do I know.

Looks like Matt is an honorary wolf because he is digging that moon. And the Chang'e theories from last week look to be getting confirmed unless Tom pulls a twist.
I expected that there would be a lot of "I knew it" exclamations, but then I remembered how meticulous this forum is on figuring things out and how spot-on or close-enough guesses are par for the course.

It's a winning streak that goes back to the girl in the photo being Annie's dad from the future.

It's a winning streak that goes back to the girl in the photo being Annie's dad from the future. Well, they can't all be winners. Besides, you've got it wrong. It's the photo itself that's Annie's dad, obviously. The girl and those other people on it were to throw people off. I mean, it's blatantly obvious when you think about it. EDIT: Also, Coyote is the Carver family dog. He was so cute as a puppy.

It would seem that the mysterious girl is Chang'e (or a reference to Chang'e). Her clothing looks more Chinese than Japanese, and Kaguyahime did not have a rabbit companion.
Also, the rabbit is definitely not lost; it is her wingman.

Given that Coyotes power seems to be a few steps below a primordial creator deity if not at the level of one, it's certainly plausible in the GC universe. Using powerful magnetic fields is also as plausible for a tool by Coyote as using solar winds. Through etheric means of course, unless all of the gods are hyper-advanced aliens or something. Also, she has a cresent moon shaped ring at the apex of her shirt, it wasnt really apparent on the previous page, but its visible here. Ordinarily it might not mean anything, however it is certainly more evidence connecting her to the moon along with the other evidence. She might not be Chang'e, but could be an envoy or something of her.

I suspect Annie is going to say how the fingerprint got there. I get the feeling she is too engrossed in her conversation with Jack to really notice what's going on with the other kids.

Is there anything that solar winds can't explain? No, except when it's, Venus, lens flare, sun dog, Chinese lantern, Swamp Gas, a particle of dust, a bug, weather balloon, a plane, helicopter, hot air balloon, hang glider, bird, firework, cloud, or top secret government plane.

Did anyone else notice how the fading of the background texture around this girl makes her look like she's glowing? Does Matt even care that she's glowing?
I want to learn more about this mysterious moon messenger. I hope we'll get a chance to meet her in person sometime after this flashback.

... unless all of the gods are hyper-advanced aliens or something. ...which brings us back to Clarke's third law: Exactly, the same would be true of modern technology and early homo sapiens. Until the batteries run out. Star Trek did this a couple of times with god-like aliens. Did anyone else notice how the fading of the background texture around this girl makes her look like she's glowing? Does Matt even care that she's glowing? I want to learn more about this mysterious moon messenger. I hope we'll get a chance to meet her in person sometime after this flashback. Huh, didn't notice that before. Indicator of her divinity or divine origin?

For example: the one she's holding in the image of the two of them together in the bottom left hand corner of the main screen. Nice catch. Do we think that that's confirmation that she's from the moon, or does someone have a space program? They've had a few years to put someone up there to look at it, after all. Also, what if the fingerprint really was formed by the solar winds, and Coyote just kind of nudged them into the right position when Annie poked it?
