I guess this one was seconds earlier because it is lower in the overview. I like how you both messed up the link in all the excitement to be first though. ;/

Does Robots martial arts skill know no bounds? Really though, great tackle on his part.
At least he thinks the modern robots look cool, despite their comparative simplicity to Diegos designs.

I usually preview it before I post, but I forgot this time.
Also, it seems to be the convention that the OP make some sort of apropos comment about the page before s/he posts it. Just so everyone's on the same page.

Maybe Robot can get Frankenbot to calm down enough for him and others to explain things since he looks 100% confused and not really know what to do, other than compliment on Robots current body.

The race was close. We even picked the same title quote. Huh. We have no better an idea of the robot's intentions or character than we did last week.

Clearly Frankenbot is not going to Jeanne's shrine, since he should have gone downstairs in Kat's workshop instead of through the door wall. Judging from his posture in panel 4, he seems to be trying to get his bearings -- looking, listening, or using some other sense/sensor to figure out where he is and/or where his objective might be.

Kat seemed freaked out, I know he kinda just woke up and grabbed her arm (painfully) but I'm pretty sure normally she would have handled this better...did the cube thing show her something important and we're in the dark here?
I should probably stop thinking and do my college work...

I should probably stop thinking and do my college work... You have to remember, KAT was never given permission to revive any of the old robots. At least, not from any official in the court. She may think that she is in real trouble if word gets out that she is "toying" with the originals. P.S. I also know how college work is rated: it comes in second place way too often. XD

Now that they're away from the squishy humans, maybe they can have a little chat.
Seems like that hole in the wall could be trouble with regard to the whole "don't tell the Court about Jeanne" thing...on the other hand, the robots managed to fix the hole in the dorm roof overnight, so maybe they could take care of this for Kat.

Robot hoyay is so polite. I wonder how many weight classes Frankenbot has on S13... 20, 30 maybe? I hope Kat & Ann are developing a plan to help the dude out, maybe Shadow can come in handy here too

So, even though Frankenbot is essentially pieces of metal connected at the joints, Diego still put detail on the feet. Now that is craftsmanship.

Frankenbot is indeed not going to Jeanne's shrine, but that doesn't mean that he isn't looking for it. Its been at least 200 years since Frankenbot was deactivated, so its mainly that he is completely lost because so much has changed. Anyways, depending on whether the entire secret chamber (including the entrance) or just the arena part is underground, one wonders how many times the court must have found that area when they removed/constructed buildings. After all, Anja somehow came into possession of the key to the passageway. Here, we can see that the secret chamber was carved into the rock and the slab could be cement, however on this page and the one before it, it looks like it could be brick or cement and those hangar looking buildings didn't look over 100 years old to me. So there is still alot of mystery.

Indeed this might be the drive for Kat to finally create a body for Robot of her own design. I've had the impression from this chapter and the other chapters in this arc that a new body for Robot was just the pretext - or, more accurately, the catalyst - for Kat's quest. The real reason is that she's simply got a drive to learn more about how to build complex technological devices; she's doing this as much for its own sake as to help Robot. (As I've said before, the mouse body might have been the best option; that way they can hide it from the adults - remember that Robot's a fugitive from the law. I've sometimes thought it fortunate that the Court didn't start investigating the "hoodied robot" once it began telling all the other robots about Jeanne's shrine, leading to them neglecting their duties to make pilgrimages there.)

So, even though Frankenbot is essentially pieces of metal connected at the joints, Diego still put detail on the feet. Now that is craftsmanship. If you aren't wearing shoes (what would a metal-footed robot need shoes for?) and are walking bipedally over an uneven surface, flexible toes are quite useful. How useful? I once read a description of human evolution that basically attributed every significant and reliable difference between us and chimpanzees/gorillas to the mutation that created our strange hind feet. And I don't know if that is correct, but it does make sense.

Good point. It still looks strange on a robot though.

Good point. It still looks strange on a robot though. Maybe, but as we have seen, Diegos robots are finely worked, with fancy ornamentation. Frankenbot doesn't have much ornamentation, but he still shows the craftsmanship mastery of his creator. I wonder what he would think of his direct descendant, who we saw earlier.
