No no, Robot. That's what Boxbot is for.

I'm sure I speak for most of the board when I say:
what.

Oh man. Somone switched Boxbot's and Robot's software. This is exactly what Boxbot would say and do if he had the capacity!

I'm hoping Robot is just goofing around.
Also: Yay, daylight savings time!

L o l, not sure if that is two robots or just Tom showing motion.
Anyways, what the heck? Either Robot is trying to express emotions or we've just found out why he was dismantled in the first place.
Also, little girl? He's never referred to Kat in that way before.

Robot has learned the dance of the gods. And it's driven him insane.

Also, it seems to be daytime all of a sudden while it's dark in the previous panel. Early morning maybe? Which would also explain Annies tiredness.

smjjames: Perhaps the lake in which the new dorms are submerged is indoors or underground.

Well, they were inside.

I'm hoping Robot is just goofing around. Also: Yay, daylight savings time! OR maybe this is just Toms way of taking a stab at daylight savings time causing inconvenience, or something. I mean on the catwalk, but yea, like Mezzaphor said, it could be underground. Edit: Another theory: Robot could be trying to do a joke while at the same time, not really understanding how to do one.

i am pretty sure it is box-bot's chip in there. possibly asked to borrow the body and robot had to be a sucker and take pity on the horrid thing.

When it does the Helooooooooo! thing, I'll be convinced, but yea, Robot definetly isn't his usual self.
Also, none of the other robots have talked in that stereotypical 60's robot voice, so there is something wrong or Robot is trying to be funny and or express emotion.
Alternatively, he could be intentionally delaying her for some reason.

smjjames: Perhaps the lake in which the new dorms are submerged is indoors or underground. That looks like the top of a skyline in panel 1 so I will guess that this building is mostly big tanks for the dorms and various support facilities and whatnot. Possibilities for Robot acting odd include: 1. He overheard some/all of the conversation either in person or through the communications terminal and thinks Kat was too hard on Antimony, 2. as 1 except ShadowII eavesdropped and filled Robot in, and 3. Robot is growing up and is rebelling (we went from Princess Kat to angel to "human girl") and 4. Robot is attempting to blend in with the other robots by imitation ("whut, all the other robots act like this").

4. Robot is attempting to blend in with the other robots by imitation. Again, none of the other robots have talked like that and he never did talk like that, so it's out of the ordinary. Also, if the dorms are inside a giant water tank, then what are the little specks we saw in the first page? Then again, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for him to plan this far. After all, he has to plan the break pages.

3. Robot is growing up and is rebelling (we went from Princess Kat to angel to "human girl") "Princess Kat" came from Shadow 2. Speaking of things that were said way back in Chapter 12, I wonder if this chapter will bring us any closer to understanding what Robot's extra CPU part is for.

[...] Then again, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for him to plan this far. After all, he has to plan the break pages. [/quote] I'm not disputing that. I'm just stating that, if the date was meant to be today, it would still be on winter time. To tell the truth, if it's meant to be the start of the school year then it would probably be dated early- to mid-September. That would still be on Summer Time. It would be before the Autumn Equinox so you would have more than 12 hours of sunshine. Allow for the clocks being on Summer Time and it would get bright around 6:30ish. {edit}I noticed a mistake on the site I linked to (it's a Government run website so that's even more worrying). It stated that the whole of Europe co-ordinated their time changes since the 80s. As the UK is part of Europe, it implies that we changed at the same time. I visited Germany in September in the 90s. It was odd because I didn't have to change my watch as Germany put its clocks back, then, at the start of September and the UK did it at the end of September.

4. Robot is attempting to blend in with the other robots by imitation. Again, none of the other robots have talked like that and he never did talk like that, so it's out of the ordinary. The Court robots have been regularly goofy. This might be Robot's take (serious or not) on the other robots, ala how Clark Kent is Kal-El's commentary on humans according to Quentin Tarantino. Also, if the dorms are inside a giant water tank, then what are the little specks we saw in the first page? Could be anything. Something like dust particles suspended in the water, illuminated indirectly? 3. Robot is growing up and is rebelling (we went from Princess Kat to angel to "human girl") "Princess Kat" came from Shadow 2. Yep was just coming back to the forum to correct that but got ninja'd by 5min. I was thinking of Robot calling Antimony "mommy" and got confused by the 4am-ness of local time. Good catch.

In that line of thinking, Robot could be trying to cheer up Kat or make her laugh, but failing at it.

Guessing that Robot and Shadow2 had a fight and Robot is not handling it well. Cookie on that Shadow2 is going to Annie.
This could either restore Annie and Kat's friendship or destroy it.

That's a really good idea. Robot and Shadow2 had a fight. Shadow2, as creature from te forest goes to Anne. Robot, as creature from te court goes to Kat. Kat and Anne have to "work together" to restore Shadow2 and Robot's friendship.

Better yet, their roles could be the reverse of Annie and Kat, i.e. Robot did something that Shadow2 wasn't happy about, so that each of them get an understanding of how the other one feels.

We don't have enough information to accurately guess anything.
SO! My guaranteed-to-be-wrong guess: this is Coyote's doing. Somehow, someway, Coyote is behind this. Why? Honestly, it's the clichéd robot-speak. It just sounds like what would emerge if someone like Coyote were pulling the strings.

My shot-in-the-dark guess is that Robot is attempting to mimic human playground behavior in respect to the angel he, ahem, likes.
If that makes any sense.

My guesses:
A) The court decided to fiddle with the robots, since they were displaying aberrant behaviors, what with the visiting Jeanne's shrine and yelling, "She died and we did nothing," at people, and they took Robot's little blue thing from his processor; OR
B) he's been infected with the dreaded Boxbot virus, thus marking the beginning of events that will lead to Gunnerkrigg's epic climax, where the forest and the Court will have to unite against the terrible menace of an army of Boxbots.
