Wait.
Surma is the one who gave him that name?

Reynardine doesn't know that name yet?

Given how short Surma had her hair when she was in her late teens, I would -guess- (I don't really know how fast a girl's hair grows that long) that she is at least in her mid twenties here, perhaps.

I never do know how to react to comments like that. By going "hrble drble" usually. Surma conducts herself with more confidence than I, clearly.
It is always so lovely to see these older timeline comics.

There is no white in Rey's eyes and it makes him look creepy.

Wait. Surma is the one who gave him that name? Yeah, that one came out of left field. This page reminded me of Coyote telling Annie that eventually she'll be able to lift her own body with ease.

This may indicate that Antimony may have always been destined for great things, considering that Rey and Surma seem to have been on a first-name basis.

Remember the power of comics: Kat's hair grew from quite short to well over shoulder length within something like a year or so (Red Returns -> A Bad Start).

Well, now we know why some people call him Renard and others Reynardine. I find it interesting that Surma's nickname is the name he gave Antimony when they first met.

There is no white in Rey's eyes and it makes him look creepy. If you look closely, you'll note that the whites of his eyes are orange. An odd stylistic choice.

Hair grows at different rates for different people regardless of gender. Mine grows really fast, much faster than pretty much anyone I know. So it could be any age, Surma's hair may just grow really fast.

Backstory time! That is unexpected, but much welcome! Those two seem to go allong very well.

Kids, Gather Round; It's Theory Time! I think that she is referencing reynard to reynardine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reynardine) who is a werefox is an old English ballad. In the ballad, Reynardine flirts and seduces pretty girls, whose fates are unknown after this "meeting". Therefore I believe Surma is just being witty and calling him reynardine since he's being a bit of a flirt... I guess the name stuck ;3

Thanks for the heads up, Brinunah. That's pretty clever how Tom worked that into the comic.

I suspected that this might be a flashback chapter, since this seems to be the last chapter of Book 3, but I wasn't sure. There is no white in Rey's eyes and it makes him look creepy. If you look closely, you'll note that the whites of his eyes are orange. An odd stylistic choice. That's just fur. The whites of foxes' eyes tend to not be visible at most angles.

People've already touched on this, but it took about three years for my hair to grow from just above my shoulders to a little below my tailbone. The average person's hair grows about half an inch a month. I'd say it would take, if we assume Surma has average hair growth, about a year, year and a half maybe to grow her hair that long. ...I'm loving this chapter so far, by the way, so I don't know why I'm fixating on hair.

Hah! Reynard in his original form reminds me of my old pet dog! little mongrel looked like a fox and also had the tendency to try and get up girl's skirts!!

P.S.: I think it will be pretty nice and funny, but at the same time sad chapter... Poor, poor lovely Surma... May be we will see all Surma's admirers. And we finally will see what has happened. And how it was seen by Surma...

Straight hair grows faster than curly hair.... well at least it looks like it does because straight hair grows in one direction... my hair is really straight and it grows very fast.

Awww, BFFs! Renard looks so soft and fluffy. I'm sure this was the downfall of their relationship.

Wow, nice! More back-story!
I find it interesting that mysteries developed earlier in the comic are starting to be revealed/explained more and more. Will Tom continue to add to the mysteries to keep the story going?
Also, as an aside, it's interesting that Renard existed in the forest for a long time, but only with Surma, noticed a human that he would kill for.
