Using a blinker stone to spy on people is not recommended...

Using a blinker stone to spy on people is not recommended... Damn, I completely forgot about that! And Annie knew she was spying on a being of the etherium. Up till now, I had thought this was a clever idea.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. This page seriously got my heart pounding for a moment. I love Annie's expressions.

Note how Jeanne's ghost looks the same in the ether as in physical world, unlike the other beings of pure spirit we've met so far. I expected her to at least be in colour. I wonder if it signifies anything.

HOLY CRAPOLA GUYS D: This just got real.
How does an incorporeal ghost hold a physical blinker stone? Is it because it's an etheric thing or does this mean she could affect the physical world? Suddenly, questions! Thousands of them!

Uh oh I'd say that's the least of her worries at this point. Although With the amount of crap that goes down there, I can picture the Court just making the entire front of the school out of bounds after this. Not that I'm wishing ill on the characters or anything, but it's refreshing to read a story like this where the characters snooping around and meddling in things they don't understand actually has negative consequences. I think that's why the fact that they got away scot-free with the lazer cow stunt back in Residential came as such a surprise.

Jeanne is holding onto Annie's hair, she can't get away so now Jeanne is going to stab Annie with the sword like a good river guardian.

Oh, oh... Ghosts, as a rule, don't change their behavior often. It's likely that next comic, she will attack. Hopefully, she will respond to her name, because Jeannie isn't just armed; she's armed and experienced. Wait, just what did Jeannie try to do last time? Why would she have marked Annie only to run her through? So whatever she's going to do, she won't simply stab Annie. How does an incorporeal ghost hold a physical blinker stone? Is it because it's an etheric thing or does this mean she could affect the physical world? I don't think she is incorporeal. She was able to cut Annie up all right. That cut isn't physical. I do think she's incorporeal, because, well, she's a ghost. And if she had somehow acquired a body, she wouldn't have been able to exit as quickly when Kat came rescuing Annie before. As for how Jeannie can touch the blinker stone, Annie's astral body has learned to move objects, and it's not like Jeannie has had a lack of time to practice down there. Or she can touch it because Annie's ethereal body is emanating from it.

I wonder if it signifies anything. I don't think Jeanne's ghost qualifies as a "being of pure spirit". Whatever the court did to her, it seems to me she acts in a way that I can only describe as anti-etheric. Etheric abilities just don't work around her, and since she guards the Annan waters, Etheric beings cannot cross it.

I wonder if ol' Jeanne is finally going to speak. Or in any other form communicate.

Question: Is Annie speaking out loud up at the doors? Previously, when they tried to throw the stone down, Annie said it landed wrong before retrieving the stone, so she presumably was still "out of body". If so, Kat and Andrew are probably getting really worried now.

This page is great! And by great I mean terrifying.
I love how Mr. Siddell uses Annie's hair for panel separators. The page flows really well and looks GREAT.
I wonder what would happen if Jeanne "kills" Antimony. Would the physical Annie be affected? If so, how? Scary stuff. Can't wait for the next page!

Okay Annie, time to either draw the Tooth or start talking.
Or maybe both.
And Kat, check and make sure she has the Tooth. If not, go get it. And Reynardine.

I'm gunna make a prediction, Jeanne will attack, but Annie will try to talk her out of it, eventually hitting a emotional wall that makes Jeanne see reason, or atleast put the sword down.
Or maybe it's Annie-stew on friday.
Why are they messing about with strange river spirits WITHOUT the demon fox of magic powah?

Next Page: *Slash!* Thanks for reading. ~ The End
Okay, maybe they'll just talk about the problem and then Jeanne gives her the stone back.

Next update: Jeanne slashes at her, Annie blocks the slash with the Tooth, Jeanne looks despondently at her now half-sword and makes a sad face ;_;

I want to know how can she stop annie from returning to her body.... Jeanne has spent a significant amount of time learning to stop creatures of the etherium from going places, and spirit-form Annie is essentially an etheric creature. Add in direct contact with the blinker stone, and Rey's somewhat obscure warning that using it for spying was not recommended, and we have ourselves an unexpectedly dangerous situation here. That would be amusing for a little while, but only if he wasn't being serious.

He couldn't be. We know Annie will get a message from her dad. That couldn't happen if she died permanently here. :-p

That couldn't happen if she died permanently here. :-p That sort of setup has not stopped OTHER webcomic artists from making premature and unsatisfying endings to their comics. However, I haven't seen any signs that Tom intends any such thing, so hopefully we're safe. Or... Annie's safe. Safer. Less unsafe. ...Well, she'll probably live through whatever happens, at least. Maybe.

I sorta suspected something like this would happen, though I thought it would begin more violently. It's pretty unlikely Rey would be able to do very much, since Jeanne in her current incarnation seems to give even Coyote pause. Okay Annie, time to either draw the Tooth or start talking. Or maybe both. And Kat, check and make sure she has the Tooth. If not, go get it. And Reynardine. Next update: Jeanne slashes at her, Annie blocks the slash with the Tooth, Jeanne looks despondently at her now half-sword and makes a sad face ;_; You forgot the part about the Tooth subsequently ripping a gash in the earth's crust/space-time and destroying everything within 20 miles Edit: I mean seriously, that thing isn't your average +10 epic vorpal blade of doom. I'd personally resort to everything up to and including nuclear weapons before pulling that thing out of its scabbard, since we know Coyote's gifts always backfire in some often spectacular/disastrous way.
