Kat's face in the middle of the three lower left panels is just priceless! ;D
Let's see though how long it takes for her attention to focus on "Bobby". I bet she's highly interested in his nimble hands by now.
Would "tap tap" be the sound of a worm being cut up into beak-sized pieces?

I wonder if she can actually talk to animals or if it's some kind of telepathy like Zimmy and Gamma do. Judging from the bubbly connection in the first panel I think it's the latter.

It does seem to be a vet clinic, so we presume that Paz volunteers there and has gained a reputation.
My question is how many animals are there really at the court? We've only seen pigeons so far and everything else is a robot (H-Model, Laser Cows)

Kat needs to learn to trust the robots a bit more. I think she's going to learn to trust everone a bit more. The first few pages were hubris to the max, and now she's stuck in a situation where she's completely helpless and useless. All in all, this looks like being a chapter where an important character learns important lessons about life. Awww.

Paz is still trying to keep her ability a secret? I don't think there's been any conclusive evidence that Paz is actively trying to keep it secret. Jack mentioned to Annie that he found out about it from the Court files, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Paz herself doesn't want to tell anyone. None of the other characters have really indicated that they know (beyond knowing that she's good with animals, of course), but none of them have indicated that they don't know, either. Unless I'm forgetting something, in which case feel free to point it out for me. I wonder if she can actually talk to animals or if it's some kind of telepathy like Zimmy and Gamma do. Judging from the bubbly connection in the first panel I think it's the latter. www.formspring.me/gunnerkrigg/q/386526153

Paz is still trying to keep her ability a secret? I think so. Silly question, but do we actually know that Paz is consciously aware of her ability? She may very well just think she is intuitive; after all, we haven't seen anything from her ability yet that couldn't be explained that way. Consider what she says here: "It's easy to know what they want at this age. He's hungry!" This is fairly obvious to anyone with experience with newborn animals, and she works in a vet clinic after all. The comment that Tom wrote, "Not great conversationalists at that age", was not said by Paz. Even if it had been, she could have been making a joke. The Court file that documents her ability is a little bit of a hitch to the idea, although the Court certainly has a great deal of hidden information about many things. Perhaps there is something in her family history that suggests this ability, or the Court has surreptitiously tested her in some way. Sounds like something Jones would do...

I don't get the logistics behind the back of Paz's shirt. Does the apron disappear? Does it really hang off her neck like that?

It's an apron. You can see the strap that goes around her neck. The shirt is a separate piece of clothing.
I love seeing more of Paz. She's adorable.

Kat needs to learn to trust the robots a bit more. Mind you, I'm still not certain, after what I've seen of them, that I'd trust them around anything as fragile and delicate as a baby bird. Of course, they probably look more inept than they really are.

Four words: "Large Animal Holding Cells" I wonder if they've been holding anything other than Reynardine in Sivo's body lately. In light of the rift between the Court and the Wood, it's not so surprising that there are hardly any live animals left in the Court - it seems to have been that way (judging from Chapter Twenty-five) ever since the Founders' generation.

Ok so prediction: In this chapter Kat will question her friendship with Annie. Well this was way off so I'm going to amend my prediction to: In this chapter Kat dies, taking half the named cast with her.

Hmm, something about the way that robot's hands are dextrous enough, Kat's issues about said dexterity in her designs for Robot's new body, and Diego's designs suggest to me that Bobby might have a bigger role in Kat's "lesson" here. I'm not sure what, but I just have a feeling something significant is here.

I'm not sure what, but I just have a feeling something significant is here. It sure seems that way, doesn't it? Tea-San has a bad habit of using robots for comic relief ("saying whistle just doesn't sound right", every single appearance of Boxbot, etc.) There's nothing wrong with that per se, but it has helped fuel the perception that the robots of Gunnerkrigg Court are somehow inept (as Todd mentioned earlier). Now we have Bobby, clearly not a Boxbot and much more dexterous than Kat was ready to accept. This chapter needs a Big Reveal. A Darth Vader moment... "Kat, Diego is Bobby's Father" = Or maybe Blue is right, and Kat builds a robot which accidentally destroys half the cast ;D (Not necessarily the top half, mind you. Muut has a busy night leading off Aata, Bob and Marcia, Winsbury and Janet, the fairies, Margo... anybody who hasn't had spoken parts lately ... )

Though the comic relief element may be less funny, after the hint in Chapter Twenty-five that the robots' behavior stems from their shocked bewilderment over Diego's part in the murder of Jeanne. To be fair to the robots, they probably seem more inept than they are because of their foibles and character design.

Just like to start off saying I like how there is alot of green, makes Paz seem like a goddess of nature (considering her power it wouldn't seem that unlikely)
Perhaps she's a animal who become a student? Maybe a more powerful spirit-animal anyway, would explain her powers.
Loving Kat's expressions, she's like me, not trusting anyone with small animals but herself. (Except Paz, but she's an exception)
Hope to see Annie in-between her many detentions soon!
*edit - Just noticed something in the Bad Start title page, Kat looks like she's got a aura of some kind, maybe she discovers her own hidden etheric powers or something.
I hope so! Kat deserves magic powers for being so awesome.

Kat, these are my mice."
