[751]It's fun to insult animals. They can't talk back.

Kat's love of birds apparently isn't universal.

The bird probably understands every single word though, and will give Paz an earful about how rude Kat is! ;D

I don't know if this has been pointed out before, but the red lines on the front of the train look like the ones Annie saw coming from the forest when using the blinker stone. I wonder if it's ehterically powered? Also: Blaine? I didn't know Tom liked the Dark Tower

Yes to that eightyfour. Kat is somewhat harsh in this chapter

You know, early in the comic it was Annie's job to awkwardly attempt to build a robot. And now it's Kat's job to awkwardly care for a living thing.
Oh, these little ironies. ;D

As long as the train doesn't start asking for riddles to solve, it's probably okay.
Even so, naming your monorail Blaine is about as safe as naming your computer HAL.

Blaine's okay as long as the other monorail is still around.

I think the bird gives Kat some sort of insight on how to build a more delicate or in her own words tiny/fragile robot.

My random guess for the day: it'a baby TicTock TicTock being mechanical, that would be pretty damn surprising.

Am I the only one who noticed that Kat isn't talking to the bird, but to herself ?

Am I the only one who noticed that Kat isn't talking to the bird, but to herself ? I think that's a bit of a harsh of an assertion. I've never gotten the impression that Kat suffers from self-esteem issues. She might have fewer friends, but on no fault of her own. If she is feeling particularly lousy at this point it probably has more to do with the frustration of not being able to make a nice body for Robot.

Blaine is MY name.
Well, better an insane train than a pervert.

Nice Stephen King reference, Tom.

Of course, this makes The Court Lud pre-moving on.
That really shouldn't fit as well as it does.

Given the Crimson King comment I made when the "eeee" started, I'm kind of happy to see the Blaine reference. But the bridge to the wood doesn't really look much like the Brooklyn Bridge.

Kat better get that thing fed or we're going to see her 2nd confrontation with Muut.

Kat feeling bad might have to do with the fact that Diego, the previous awesome role-model robot builder, turned out to be a real dick.
There are dicks on both sides of the spectrum - Coyote and Diego are both pretty good-sized jerks when they want to be - but that doesn't make their end of things (etheric vs mechanical) any less important.

Kat better get that thing fed or we're going to see her 2nd confrontation with Muut. Except that we don't know which Guide has jurisdiction over birds; that might be somebody else's job than Muut's. Not to mention that Kat can't see the Guides on her own - and Annie isn't around this time to get him to show himself to her.
