That's very good. I'm quite fond of that chapter because it still has an emotional impact on me after many readings. I think you captured in his eyes the haunted emotions that must certainly come with accidentally killing your whole family.

Thanks! It does for me, too ... all I have to do is catch a glimpse of a page while my little sister is looking at it and the waterworks start right up.

Jeanne, because she needs more fanart. I still have no idea what I'm doing, but my unartistic family members tell me that it looks very good! A better version can be found at my deviantart. The original version was too big so I scaled it down to post here.

That's a great rendering of Jeanne. I love the eyes.

All right, my first post here is going to be an art post-- hello MS Paint, what's up? I haven't seen you in a while. What? You want me to draw a picture with a laptop mouse and the line tool?? Well... I will, but I can't promise it will be very good. It's only partly colored, but my hand is aching and I don't really want to work on it anymore. Sooo, here's Kat helping Annie up into her airship. Or at least starting to. Those crinolines are an absolute nightmare to climb a ladder in, so it might be a bit of an adventure. And not the good kind of adventure, like you want. Antimony's suit is as sober as it is because she's (presumably?) still in mourning for her mother. Her mother died only a few years ago or less, right? <___> she probably wouldn't be in her year of strict mourning anymore (strict mourning = black only) so the green skirt should be okay. ...right? Annie's face and neck look kind of weird. And she's not leaning forward as much as she should be. And she's too tall. And looks too old. And the tendrils of hair in front look all stiff and weird. Also her right arm is too long. And weird looking. Also the airship is sort of just a random hodgepodge of lines. I'll shut up now. .____.

Annie came to Gunnerkrigg in mid-term, very shortly after her mother died. (It was never, as far as I know, specified just how shortly, but more likely days than months.) She fell off the bridge before the subsequent summer break.

Definitely worth it. Lovely art, true to the original, and I am moved by your version of the poem. One of the best pieces of fan-art I've ever seen.

I have a bunch more of these I want to do, but am limited both by time and by a complete lack of anything even remotely resembling artistic talent. So, fair warning: there may be more of these, but they'll all be about this terrible. A character so terrible he's actually awesome...dressed up as a character who's also so terrible he's actually awesome: And because I can't wait until I've posted all the rejects to post the punchline, here's...the, um...punchline.

Hey guys, I made a video to celebrate Parley and Smitty's new "Item" status.
I hope you like it. It probably looks better on actual Youtube than this link, but whatever.

Speaking of Halloween: That's Zimmy disguised as Boogiepop from Boogiepop Phantom if you can't tell (and you most probably can't because this isn't a very good drawing). You can tell she likes the costume very much. Anyway, happy Halloween.

Before I read your description I thought you'd dressed her up as a Jaegermonster. I don't know what a Boogiepoop is, but Zimmy makes a great Jaeger.

Well, Boogiepop (which is a sort of god of Death) does have what every Jaeger *must* have: an awesome hat.

Very well done. You have a very consistent style, and there's some great attention to detail in these. I do wonder what Annie was doing with her hands like that, though. Is she playing with an imaginary beach ball?

I chose to interpret it as Kat was all like "Whee thank you for such an awesome birthday present" and Annie was all like "Haha, no problem Kat *shrug*"
Cute pictures, I would like to see more from you! On a tiny note of curiosity, why green lipstick?

I realized what Annie's hands remind me of: Toph's earth bending form from Avatar: TLA. Maybe she's into Southern Mantis kung fu?

Haha, thanks. Yes, Anthony and Surma had a beautiful relationship FOR SCIENCE, kind of like Marie Curie and her husband, only with less radiation and more blood.
