I doubt that computer would be used to store information about Rey.

Wow, Jack has been up to way more shenanigans than I thought.
My guess is that he hacked into Court data servers and read up on Rey. He probably learned a whole buttload of stuff.

Letting other people know that you know more than you are supposed to know is either a sign of great trust or of great villainy.

I'm guessing he read it on the internet. Namely, this page. This supports my earlier theory that Jack is aware that he's living in a webcomic!

What're the odds that before he changed the subject Jack was going to say something along the lines of 'and then a creepy magical spider laid eggs in my brain'?
I think if Jack ever reveals the truth to Annie it's going to be all dramatic with dramatic lighting and possibly some sort of dramatic wind and then she'll be like 'yes, I already knew that'. And then the next panel will be Jack making some sort of face which will be Mr Pitchfork's new avatar within thirty seconds.
Also, I don't think Rey's original name is going to be in the resources available to students, or with enough information to get from 'a body-hopping fox thing from Gillitie Woods' to 'that wolf that follows Carver around'. Which means he most likely got into some computer he shouldn't have, which (like most of the other stuff he's been up to) would be a valid reason for Shell and Buddha to be chasing him around.

This supports my earlier theory that Jack is aware that he's living in a webcomic! I hope not; once the characters in a story recognize that they're in a story and start breaking the fourth wall, all hopes of serious drama go out the window. If "Gunnerkrigg Court" took that route, it would have to become a tongue-in-cheek comedy strip from that time forth. More likely Tom had a different computer in mind, one that exists within the Court's world (as some of the other posters suggested); let's hope we get a proper explanation on Wednesday.

I think he just means on the Internet, remember that even in the Gunnerverse Rey is a mythical being. In the sources I've found, he's almost always reffered to as Renard. I imagine Jack wouldve called him Renard if he'd been reading in the library, but from what we know of him, I think he'd prefer using The Google

I went back to the Power Station chapter to see whether I could see Jack somewhere, but all I found was a huge spider on page 466 in the fifth panel.

I think "on the computer" is a phrase that Jack just adds randomly to things he says on the computer.

I bet Annie is wishing she thought of going to Google first, instead of trying to interrogate a stuffed animal xD

Letting other people know that you know more than you are supposed to know is either a sign of great trust or of great villainy. Not trust, a need to be trusted. He's deliberately giving up an advantage (they didn't know that he'd figured out who Reynardine is) so that he can show off his resourcefulness and convince Annie that he's a pretty together guy who deserves to be let in on all the secret business that's happening.

Also, it looks like Jack's eyes are deteriorating further into Zimmy-ness - there are more streaks coming out now. I bet by the time they get across that lake, his eyes will be almost or completely black

I think he just means on the Internet, remember that even in the Gunnerverse Rey is a mythical being. Unlikely, since Jack only knows him as a giant wolf. If you look up "giant wolf" on Google, you won't be finding legends about Renard the Fox. It's not specific so it can also serve as a punchline, see.

Goblins is doing some very serious drama even though the characters all know they are creatures in a role-playing game. (They even argue about the rules.) Order of the Stick is a comedy, and the characters know that they are creatures from a role-playing game presented in a comic (the rogue stole something from the cast page), yet the strip evolved into doing serious drama (in comic fashion).

Not to mention 1/0, which was likely the greatest experiment in comic philosophy ever, which had no fourth wall yet was one of the most dramatic comics I have read.

I found 1/0 to be incredibly pretentious. Gunnerkrigg Court has always been good at avoiding that trap.

Then again, there's also the compromise possibility that only Jack gets some fourth-wall bypassing ability, as the result of his craziness (kind of like Marvel character Deadpool).

If Jack found Reynardine's name on some Court records or something, maybe he could have found the name of the man Reynardine killed as well?
