nice attempt really. though its not that natural [white edges around him], you've definately getting the right ideas.
like using his transparency by the way

I drew this image after reading through the whole comic on Sunday. (I had quite a bit of free time). Also, I'm new here, so I suppose I should say hello, so hello. ;D Very exquisite! I like the style and composition of it...also having Aly in there is just perfect, hehehe! Welcome to the forums too, by the way!

Mort bounces too sharply downwards, but otherwise that is awersome.

I was wondering if someone was going to nab that 'we wish to communicate with you' panel. This has saved me multiple seconds of work in getting a new MSN avatar.

Sorry it took me this long to get started. School and all. I'm not dead, I swear! Anyways, prelim sketch of the Justice tarot. Huzzah for Eggers. There are some anatomy issues and some baaad inadvertent tension points I need to straighten out, but at least I have something now.

Just a quick sketch - I hope we get to see more of the war horses. Yeah, there are some proportion issues... Maybe I'll do a better version of it later.

Here's a WIP of Annie - I left my pens at my school, so I can't ink it. Anyway, here's the sketch - I apologize for the graininess - My scanner doesn't handle pencils too well. It'll be inked by Friday, I promise.

I made a blinker stone. It's actually a candy drop, dark raspberry flavor. Vanilla icing was used to highlight the inset design. We were discussing such things in the GC Merchandise thread and I thought I'd give it a go, just to prove it'd be easy.

PS: Nice sketch of Eggers, Myrani. I have the feeling he could bring much Tarot justice.

Hah! Did it taste good? =) It will probably taste very good! I haven't eaten it yet and I may not be the one eating it. I'm trying to hook my young cousin on GC so she'll probably wind up with it, assuming it's not too big for her. Also I'm not entirely sure I'm done photographing it, the pictures don't really do it justice. I need a shorter lens and I should dig my tripod out of the closet. There was a very small amount of leftover candy from the initial pour that I did eat; it tasted very sweet and dark raspberry (as it should) but there was too much Pam on it to say with 100% certainty what the vanilla-iced blinker stone will taste like. Pam, btw, was used to lube the mold and the surface where the stuff was poured. It worked well. There was also a caramel aftertaste that makes me think I cooked the candy slightly too long. Still, not too shabby for a first try using a ladle over a gas stove with no candy thermometer! (edit/) This is no longer accurate. While getting ready to photograph the blinker stone again I accidentally dropped it. It met a hardwood floor at high speed and its edge was badly chipped, its modeling career over. There was nothing to do but wash the blinker stone off and eat it. It was exactly as expected but there was some uneven mixing of flavoring; I suppose this happens often because hot candy can't be stirred. Meet blinker stone #2, currently unfrosted. (/edit) (edit3) Images deleted because of loss of hosting. (/edit3) (edit2) Actually, the Pam doesn't seem to dry out easily and keeps the candy sticky. Maybe something else would work better as a mold lubricant. (/edit2)

that blinker stone is amazing! Its almost a shame to think its something that would be eaten.

About how big is it? It's kinda hard to tell from the pictures. What kind of mold did you use?
But anyway, that is the most amazing thing I have seen all day. I would pay for a box of those.

I forgot to mention that it's a "life-size" replica. It's about an inch by an inch and a half. Here's a lousy picture that shows scale well. (edit/) Lousy picture of blinker stone #1 has been deleted. Instead here is a much nicer picture of blinker stone #2. (/edit) (edit2) Images deleted due to loss of hosting. (/edit2) The mold was made from liquid latex rubber on a paste wax and Fimo positive. It took about 12 layers. I'm not sure how many high-temperature castings it'll survive but it shows no damage at all from the first. that blinker stone is amazing! Its almost a shame to think its something that would be eaten. We started off talking about a toy one made from resin but I'm not sure about the wisdom of making blinker stones from something that may be toxic. Kids may put them in their mouths. I settled on candy for a prototype because it's harmless and would look similar to a polyester or acrylic resin jewel. Maybe someday Tom will commission and sell injected-plastic ones that light up.

Or ones that actually light on fire when you think! I'D buy that!
Also, totally kid-safe!
In more realistic terms, I like it a bunch, ifriend, it's very clever.

...I want to eat that so badly. I have that reaction to gems normally (must... put in mouth!) but because it is ACTUALLY candy? I want it.

I agree : that blinker stone's utterly amazing! It reminds me of a chocolate ladybug I got when I was a kid, though : I couldn't bring myself to actually *eat* it so I saved it for months and months until it was mouldy, white and a bit soft... finally I threw it out.
Wouldn't that come into play with the blinker stone? I guess if you have a box of them / know how to make more, it'd be less of an issue...
It's also great to see another medium than drawings / prints / ...
