Today, I encountered a random forumgoer who has claimed that "gunrunnerick (court)" is perhaps his least favorite D&D-based webcomic.
I'm not even sure what to make of this. Any thoughts?

ask him for a copy of his player's handbook, please. I'd REALLY be interested in reading it!

I hardly see how discussion of Gunrunnerick the DnD comic is relevant to a forum about Gunnerkrigg Court.

I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about...

I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about... Not only has our good friend mangled "Gunnerkrigg" into "Gun Runner Rick," but apparently Gunnerkrigg Court has been a Dungeons & Dragons webcomic all along and Tom never told us!

I wonder when we will find out something about this Rick guy. Maybe he is the one who made the Tictocs? Oh, wait! Gun Runner Rick? As in, the Artilleryman?

Well of course it's the worst D&D comic, who plays D&D with gun runners!?

Ask him what's his most favorite D&D-based webcomic. In contrast to Gunnerkrigg Court, I'd have to suggest Faux Pas.

That's pretty awesome.
But, 30 speed? O__O Unless that's supposed to be 30 feet per move action (5 feet per second. 10 on a double move) which would be speed 6,a normal player speed in 4th edition. Although, since it's a run action I guess it would be speed 4 (+2 for run) which is slow for someone not wearing armor. </haha NERD>
Also relevant to this thread: I am making a female Pixie Bard named Ogee for a D&D campaign. Eventually, I will be multiclassing into shaman for an extra heal, and I get a (almost entirely useless) spirit companion that can be any animal. Mine? A HUMAN BUSINESSMAN a magpie named Bobeyes.

Annie is only a child though so wouldn't that equal reduced stats, and thus a reduced run speed?

In 4th edition (I'm not sure about 3.5e, I started playing after 4e came out) your age has no effect on your stats. That might be true though in an earlier edition that focused more on roleplaying at the expense of balancing.

Annie is only a child though so wouldn't that equal reduced stats, and thus a reduced run speed? We never moved to 4th edition, so yes, that's a speed of 30 feet (120 feet in one round running). There are age modifiers in 3.*, but they only cover middle age and older, and don't affect speed. In the core books, there are no rules for children, and Anitimony isn't small enough to bump her down a size category (which would reduce her speed). Mostly it's a small joke about how in D&D, an adolescent usually runs just as fast as a highly fit athlete. And about Ogee, funny . Let us know how that turns out.

ask him for a copy of his player's handbook, please. Or just which version. Annie is only a child though so wouldn't that equal reduced stats, and thus a reduced run speed? Also, it's a run/sprint/dash and she's unencumbered. In 4th edition (I'm not sure about 3.5e, I started playing after 4e came out) I'd recommend something like AD&D2+PO, if you're interested in classic. PO was the most advanced version before "calculating 20-5 is too slow", featz and "linear warriors, hypercubic wizards" - flexible enough for most uses, though not really streamlined. And hey, even if you'll not like it, at least when talking about "D&D" people won't give you those annoying blank stares anymore. That alone is worth trying. your age has no effect on your stats. So it's a good thing circuit breakers kicked in before i got to bear lore section... ;D That might be true though in an earlier edition that focused more on roleplaying at the expense of balancing. Originally D&D was a character-level model extension for Chainmail wargame. Even after that, they were focused on adventurers and as such had "starting age". 2e PHB had only 3 extra age categories: Middle/Old/Venerable. Children were handled on the roadside, mostly as consequences of drinking elixir of youth and suchlike. Mostly it's a small joke about how in D&D, an adolescent usually runs just as fast as a highly fit athlete. That depends. E.g. under PO:C&T, Str and Dex adjustments are added to base movement, then you run out of Fatigue Points (depends on Con and HD/class) and not running at all, until some rest. Recovery depends on Con and ST. So yeah, usually an unencumbered warrior with levels outruns everyone else. Rogues are second, though (Dex prime requisite and best ST to recover from fatigue).
