@ zylonbane Hahahaha too good Thanks! By the way, the proper Steven Wright quote is, "If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?" That very well may be, but I go a step further and explain the contradictory phrases resulting in a case of breaking the law of gravity.

I'm actually quite fond of the theory of the toasted hover-cat. Zy, I like the Steven Wright quote too!

I just noticed, Annie is looking at us in panel 3. : d It's kinda creepy... x D I thought she was looking at Lindsey. I don't think it was intentional fourth-wall breakage on Toms part.

Lindsay's gender is only important if you're another giant crab.

Me neither, I just don't like it if fictional characters look at me. No problem if they look at my avatar though. Kat looks in the direction of the panels left side, and talks to Lindsey, Annie doesn't look in that direction. She could be looking at something else of course, but what/who else is there to look at? Rey? Probably. Or it could be just the perspective. Ah well, I will have to modify what I said to "Annie is looking in the direction of us"...

She is tapping into her hidden Deadpool powers of Fourth Wall Breakage skills. Edit2: Although, Annie has seen plenty of creepy and strange looking things, so she adjusts fast, while Kat has only seen monster crabs like Lindsey in movies. Aside of some fairly freakish stuff of the Court (starting from robo-corrida), she saw Ketrak. Kat's going to look deep into Annie's eyes and say "You can apologise....by having a shower with me. Please! And knock off the crazy antics." Fix'd =D Reynardine. Bag. ;D I thought Lindsey was female. I think a male response would be more direct: "Settle down, please" I have harder time discerning male and female giant crab mentality despite, technically, being an arthropodean animal myself. I just noticed, Annie is looking at us in panel 3. : d It's kinda creepy... x D If you examine the panel carefully, they both look at the same direction. Namely, at the nearest giant crab. I go a step further and explain the contradictory phrases resulting in a case of breaking the law of gravity. Besides, it's wrong. Since the setup is never perfectly symmetrical, the sistem will rotate. Thus, limiting its horizontal movement and attaching a magnet, you have a basic version of the toastcat generator.

Don't know if Tom has said he is horrible looking like an elder god or something. Edit: Tom never said what exactly Ketrak looks like, but I guess he would be horrible enough to not be revealed.

Ketrak looks more horrifying than even Tom can imagine.

Anybody else think it looks like Kat made a quick recovery from that? Maybe she just needed a chance to shake off the reaction. It really goes to show that she was trying not to offend Lindsey. Although the comment about them being in Lindsey's tank certainly didn't help. Blah blah blah, I'm repeating myself here Just sort of rambling off out of boredom. Besides, there is already plenty of wierd stuff in the depths of the ocean for Kat to get creeped out at.

In the great pronoun debate, I'm going to go for Lindsey being a giant arthropod. Turns out, and this may be petty of me, I don't much care about the sex of giant arthropods.
So: Lindsey is an "it". Or a "he", the default personal pronoun in English. But basically, an it.
If Lindsey is female, points to Tom for avoiding the "Everything has tits" cliche.
I am forced, though, to refer to a possibly relevant female Lindsey, Lindsey Brigman, engineer on the subsea oil rig operated by her estranged husband, Bud, in The Abyss. It's one of my favorite SF adventures, and one of the very few shows to honestly pull off the "kill a key character, then revive her" scene, a usually horrible cliche. (If you haven't read it, I strongly urge you to seek out Orson Scott Card's novelization, which provides wonderful background for the characters (it was mandatory reading for the actors) and fills in some of the refrigerator logic plot holes.)
There's also Lindsay Crouse, the actress.
The other Lindsey I know of is male and currently seated in Congress. I'll say no more about him.
[slight edit for clarity.]

Refugee: For all we know, Tom could have written down a few names on pieces of paper, put them in a hat and drew a random name for the giant crab. However, if Tom really is making a homage or shout out, that's a possible source. The second Tom introduces gelatinous mantaray-jellyfish aliens, we'll know for sure it's an Abyss reference.

For your correction. But even if forces are placed symmetrically relative to center of mass (which is already dubious), the system is aerodynamically asymmetric. Without external stabilization, the cat will be blown to one side! Robo-corrida? Not sure what you're referring to. In S1 - with matador. And bull. Edit: Tom never said what exactly Ketrak looks like, but I guess he would be horrible enough to not be revealed. There was a part of its shadow... So: Lindsey is an "it". Or a "he", the default personal pronoun in English. But basically, an it. (As an androgynous large arthropod beholder approves) ;D and currently seated in Congress. I'll say no more about him. Do you mean this? That isn't saying much other than that Ketrak may have lots of legs and is about as big as a medium sized trilobite.

I am so going to hell for this. And I'm taking you all with me! The last panel is so non-canon.
